Matt Essex, M.S., CCN

Essex is an accomplished and seasoned entrepreneur, teacher, researcher and public speaker in the areas of healthcare administration and gerontology who continuously demonstrates the embodiment of a service-leader.

During the past decade in the healthcare industry, Essex has become well respected for his vision, creativity and passion for senior healthcare and wellness. He and the healthcare companies he has been involved with have been nationally recognized for their efforts in Active-aging, by the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), Stanford University, Arizona State University, the City of Scottsdale and other groups. Essex has been the focus of several editorials where he was recognized as one of the top entrepreneurs in Arizona by both BizAZ magazine and the Arizona Republic for his dedication and passion for reinstituting time and care back into healthcare. 

He holds a Master's of Science Degree in Geriatric Health and Wellness and undergraduate degrees in Exercise Science, Wellness and Human Nutrition, all from Arizona State University.

Michael Hutta

Hutta joined the ActiveRx® Leadership Team in 2009 with nearly 20 years of management experience. He has been recognized as a dedicated mentor and team motivator throughout his career in categories that include real estate, financial services and executive consultancy.

He spent 13 years at Enterprise Holdings in various executive roles, including Regional Vice President of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, overseeing a $70 million division with 400 full-time employees at 50 locations. He has been a successful entrepreneur, and served as the Regional Vice President of Franchise Sales for the Real Estate Division of Better Homes and Garden, and as Managing Partner for Foothills Funding, LLC.

Hutta graduated from Springfield College with a Business Management degree, and studied abroad at Richmond College, London, England with a concentration in International Business.

Bill Woodward

Woodward, a three-decade veteran marketing communications specialist in the healthcare category, joined the ActiveRx® Leadership Team in 2010. He is formerly the manager of public affairs for Mayo Clinic Arizona and director of advertising for Banner Health, the largest hospital system in Arizona. He has also served as the vice president of public relations at three of the largest public relations firms in Phoenix.

He established a 10-year track record as one of the nation’s most successful and innovative marketing communications specialists in the field of behavioral health care from 1980-89, and has also been an award-winning journalist as a television station news director and radio talk-show host.

Woodward has earned more than 80 national and regional awards for excellence in marketing, advertising, and promotions. He has been featured in Advertising Age magazine, published in Healthcare Marketing Quarterly, and lectured to many professional organizations at national and regional conferences.
